FLEET COST & CARE TO MATCH UNITED RENTALS DONATION TO TURNS FOR TROOPS AT THE GOPRO GRAND PRIX OF SONOMA
Detroit, MI (September 11, 2017) –Fleet Cost & Care (FCC), an associate sponsor of Verizon IndyCar Series team Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL), announced today that they will contribute $50 for each lap driver Graham Rahal completes in this weekend’s GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma to Turns for Troops. FCC is excited to participate in such a noble cause that is dedicated to helping our country’s service men and women.
Turns for Troops was created by United Rentals, also an RLL sponsor, in 2016. The initiative supports SoldierStrong, a program that funds access to education, state-of-the-art rehabilitation programs and technologies that address a variety of combat-related injuries for military veterans, including the production of exoskeletons to help veterans paralyzed or with spinal cord injuries walk again. United Rentals has pledged to donate $50 dollars for every lap that Rahal completes throughout the 2017 season. To date, Turns for Troops has raised over $148,000 this season for SoldierStrong. FCC is excited to match United Rentals contributions for this season’s final race.
“After being around Graham, the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team and Turns for Troops all season, we wanted to make sure to do our part,” said Jeff Curran, Fleet Cost & Care President, who is grateful for the opportunity to participate in a cause that he feels very strongly about. “The Sonoma race was a great fit for Fleet Cost & Care to participate. SoldierStrong is doing some amazing things with the available technology. Ensuring our veterans have access to such programs is crucial to providing them innovative rehabilitation opportunities they deserve when returning home from overseas.”
“I can’t thank Fleet Cost & Care and our other partners enough for helping us surpass our goal of raising $100,000 and helping us get closer to doubling that. It’s a true testament to the quality of the partners we have,” said Graham Rahal. I am very proud to represent a company such as United Rentals, who created a great program like Turns for Troops to help improve the lives of men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.”
The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season comes to its conclusion this weekend with the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, Sunday, September 17th. Graham Rahal is currently ranked seventh in series standings with two wins, one pole and 466 points. For more details about the Series, please visit www.indycar.com.
