Confluence ‘24: A Celebration of Innovation and Collaboration in Fleet Management
Last month Confluence ‘24, hosted by Fleet Cost & Care (FCC) at the Westin Indianapolis, was a resounding success, bringing together over 100 professionals from over forty companies. These participants hailed from various sectors, including crane and rigging, telematics, insurance, business intelligence, training, and financial services. This top tier fleet management conference featured compelling general sessions and three distinct educational tracks: Digital Transformation, Revenue & Growth, and Operational Excellence. Confluence ‘24 proved to be a critical event for advancing industry innovation and excellence.
A Content Rich Experience
The event provided a vibrant platform for fleet owners and their teams to delve into the latest industry trends and technologies. The Digital Transformation track highlighted innovative solutions for empowering teams, streamlining operations, enhancing efficiency, and leveraging data analytics. The Revenue & Growth track focused on navigating market complexities, offering strategies to drive profitability and sustain growth amidst evolving industry challenges. The Operational Excellence track focused on using NexGen and Atom to achieve operational improvement – highlighting best practices in fleet management, safety protocols, and performance optimization.
Over the course of the three-day event, attendees experienced a content-rich agenda with 20 sessions spanning 17 hours. The conference featured 29 contributors, including industry experts, panelists, and FCC specialists, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for all. Keynote speakers delivered insightful presentations, while panel discussions fostered an environment where attendees could exchange ideas and build connections, and interactive workshops enabled participants to gain practical knowledge and skills directly applicable to their operations.
Confluence’s general session agenda featured a diverse range of topics and speakers. Perry Smith, Senior Project Manager at FCC, and Frank Braski, Chief Evangelist of GenAI & IoT at FCC’s software engineering partner, Softura, explored the future of the new Fleet Cost & Care SaaS product currently under development. Paul Crompton, Managing Partner at Acumen Information Systems, and his colleagues discussed how companies are leveraging accounting systems and back-office operations for business advantage.
Jonathan Cervero, Director of Sales North America at SmartEquip, and Johnson Do, VP at Rouse Rental Insights, demonstrated how their software enables equipment rental companies to outperform competitors by optimizing fleet management, pricing strategies, and maintenance processes. Rouse Rental Insights provides market intelligence for better decision-making, while SmartEquip increases equipment uptime and technician efficiency, enhancing overall operational performance.
Lastly, Kirk Hanratty, VP & CTO and Co-Founder of Synercomm, addressed critical issues in cybersecurity, focusing on ransomware and business disruptors. Together, these sessions provided comprehensive insights into innovative technologies and strategies shaping the business landscape.

At FCC we recognize that the moments spent outside the conference rooms are just as valuable as those within. Building and nurturing professional relationships is essential, and Confluence ’24 provided many opportunities for both. Attendees enjoyed the lively atmosphere of Indianapolis, from the welcome reception to the iconic shrimp cocktail at St. Elmo. “Night Out” at Punch Bowl Social was a highlight, with bowling, darts, skee-ball, and other bar games driving fun for everyone. Times like theres allow industry peers to reconnect and establish new partnerships, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
